We are seeking an outstanding Scientist to join the New Product Development group to lead development efforts of our Visium spatial products. New Product Development is a rapidly growing team that acts as the interface between R&D and Production. The team is involved in all stages of product development from concept to post-launch activities. All candidates must have experience with product development, proven-ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and deep understanding of molecular biology. An ideal candidate will have experience with microscopy or spatial assays, experience working with vendors and/or service providers, experience in reagent manufacturing, and have great communication skills.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Reagent development for new products in the Visium platform
  • Work with key internal and external partners to develop and optimize reagents
  • Working with partners in Operations and R&D to ensure new products meet 10X’s high quality standards
  • Design new assays for reagent QC, create work instructions for manufacturing, and quality control documentation
  • Perform statistical analyses on key assay and QC metrics.
  • Update manufacturing documents and present results.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, analytical chemistry, or related fields.
  • Experience with a broad variety of molecular biology and analytical techniques including qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, use of plate readers, Bioanalyzers, gel imagers, real-time PCR instruments, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues in manufacturing or R&D.
  • Experience developing assays
  • NGS experience/knowledge is required
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

 

Preferred skills & background: 

  • Reagent transfer experience
  • Customer support experience.
  • Technology transfer or product sustaining experience
  • Previous work with FFPE tissues.
  • Previous work with spatial assays.
  • Experience with microscopy and imaging systems.
