About the role:

Scientist - Product Integration

 

We are seeking an outstanding Scientist to join the Product Integration (PI) group at 10x Genomics. This is a unique multi-disciplinary position that will work closely with a variety of groups including Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Microfluidics, and Support groups.
You will play an important role ensuring the success and sustainability of on-the-market products as well as in expanding the 10x product portfolio. You will gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of all 10x products across our Single Cell, Spatial, and upcoming In Situ platforms.

The ideal candidate should have experience working independently in a laboratory setting, have exceptional attention to detail, and be able to critically troubleshoot problems, analyze data, and communicate results to the team. The ability to be flexible in changing directions in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities will be critical for success.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Working within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the success and robustness of on-the-market products
  • Work with core teams to identify and address customer pain-points within existing products
  • Expand your skillset and gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of Single Cell, Spatial, and In Situ biochemistry
  • Developing a deep understanding of the interplay between chemistry, molecular biology, and microfluidics to identify the root cause of product deviations, troubleshoot them, and identify clever solutions
  • Planning and execution of experiments, accurate recording of details, in-depth analysis, and reporting of these results through documentation and presentations
  • Optimization and Validation of workflows for 10x products

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, or related field
  • 6+ (B.S), 4+ (M.S.), or 2+ (Ph.D.) years of relevant biotechnology experience
  • Experience in life science applications, such a next-generation sequencing library preparation, cell culture, microscopy, PCR, or other nucleic acid or protein-based technologies
  • Ability and desire to dig deeply into complex datasets, and analyze, interpret, and communicate results in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of NGS and related applications (e.g. RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing molecular biology assays

 

Additional Preferred Skills:

 

  • Familiarity with new product introduction or product development process and life cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn multiple complex protocols
  • Experience with either Single Cell, Spatial, or In Situ workflows
