About the role: 

10x Genomics is looking for an outstanding and highly motivated individual to join its consumable manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for production consumable products associated with NGS and spatial genomics work-flow. This role requires excellent laboratory and automation equipment handling skills in performing production operations consistently.

The ideal candidate will have an education background in one or more of the following disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent.  Experience in production and QC of similar products in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

This is a junior to senior level non-exempt position in 10x consumable manufacturing team.  Individuals applying to this position should have a basic understanding of industry manufacturing workflow and ERP system. This individual must be a self-starter, quick learner and detail oriented, work well in a team atmosphere, have good communication skills, ability to adapt and thrive in working at a fast-paced environment.

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Train new hires on specific 10X manufacturing operation processes
  • Manage day-to-day operation on production manufacturing floor
  • Execute production operations accordingly to ensure the integrity and quality of products
  • Operate and maintain class 100 - 1000 clean room environment
  • Process work orders accurately using an ERP system in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure on-time completion of production builds
  • Perform formulation and dispensing of reagent consumables
  • Assemble parts into subcomponents, or finished good configurations in a cleanroom environment
  • Operate automated manufacturing equipment for photolithography, and wafer dicing workflow
  • Maintain production batch records, and good documentation under ISO 9001 practices
  • Track production data, test data, and inventory accurately
  • Disposition material based on QC and production data
  • Identify issues occurred in production labs and escalate issues to supervisor’s or MSE’s attention
  • Assist in writing work instructions (WI), and production batch records (BR) relating to cleanroom photolithography process and wafer handling equipment
  • Assist in production work order assignment and lead cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Assist in PKI tracking, data analysis, and manage continuous improvement projects
  • Manage NCMR, Deviation reports, ECO and/or CAPA and follow up on process and action items
  • Execute IQ/OQ/PQs

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • B.S. in one of the following disciplines – Physics, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant GMP, GLP, or QC of Life Science products
  • Experience with large and multi-wafer process handling – coating and dicing
  • Extensive experience with automation equipment, and microscope visual inspection
  • Experience with operating automation/programmable systems
  • Basic understanding of DNA sequencing – NGS, and PCR process
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines under supervision
  • Relevant experience in GMP, 5S, lean manufacturing, ISO 9001 environment and tools – ERP, LIMS, Work Order, Batch Record, Arena, Oracle, QMS etc.
  • Good documentation skills and ability to write procedures and reports

 

Preferred skills: 

  • Knowledgeable of surface chemistry, and surface characterization, and surface functionalization
  • Experience with PECVD, or plasma treatment for large surfaces
  • Knowledgeable of dry and wet etching, and plating process
  • Hand-on experience of clean room operation for photolithography process
  • Having a sense of urgency and attention to details
  • Having some level of flexibility, and a willingness to make an impact
