As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of the product development process, from the initial prototyping to launch. You will conceptualize and implement custom hardware systems and test plans to support iNPI Eng activities, as well as verification, validation, qualification, and factory acceptance testing.

Ideal candidates will thrive in demanding multidisciplinary environments, enjoy hands-on hardware and software development, and have strong data analysis and presentation skills. Sophisticated and robust testing is the underpinning of key architectural downselections and the primary determinant of system performance and reliability. As a member of the team you will help set the high standards of our technical development processes.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop custom test fixtures, software (Labview), and protocols
  • Serve as the technical liaison between the hardware design teams and the factory
  • Own multiple factory test stations from concept through mass production
  • Assist in transfer of test protocols to external test and manufacturing partners/contract manufacturers worldwide
  • Lead development and execution of verification, validation, qualification, and acceptance testing
  • Work with 10x’s Embedded Software group to specify embedded test access SDKs (software development kit) and APls (application programming interface)
  • Collaborate with Electrical/Mechanical Engineering to understand design intent, then translate to DFT suggestions and a detailed test plan
  • Troubleshoot complex electromechanical, optical, and fluidic systems
  • Develop, document, maintain, and execute test software / scripts
  • Implement and standardize test data reporting tools and report templates
  • Design and validate PCBs for electrical signal routing and signal conditioning within your test fixtures
  • Understand the meaning of the measurements your stations are taking, and feed analysis of these measurements back to our hardware design teams
  • Identify strategic partnerships that can extend our team's capabilities without compromising our quality standards
  • Architect test stations using generic building blocks that can be re-used in future test stations
  • Create automated systems to quickly collect feedback about our products' performance in the factory and with our customers
  • Provide on-site support during NPI mass production builds in Asia (-10% max travel)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors in an engineering discipline (systems, software, mechanical, biomedical, etc); masters preferred
  • 5+ years of industry experience (design, test or systems engineering role)
  • Hands on experience performing independent design, assembly and/or testing of complex electromechanical systems
  • Ability to understand mechanical assembly process in order to recommend focused verification of high-risk or high-consequence assembly steps
  • Labview experience
  • Fluency in Python
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent visual & oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to pick up new technologies quickly
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel (-10% max travel)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • C/C++ experience
  • Experience troubleshooting PCBs (reading schematics, operating oscilloscopes & multimeters, basic firmware debugging)
  • Specific experience in life sciences / laboratory instrumentation product development
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following disciplines: optics, fluidics, precision motion, embedded electronics
  • Experience developing and/or testing products in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, minimally ISO 9001)
