About this Role:

Under guidance of the Global Logistics Director, the Staff Logistics Analyst will work with management to ensure logistics processes, practices and initiatives are following global standards. The candidate will be responsible for enhancing product workflow by analyzing, developing, and implementing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory on a global scale. The Staff Logistics Analyst will play a crucial role in the negotiation, evaluation and implementation of service provider contracts and service arrangements globally.


Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to service provider management, price/service analysis, SOP writing/updating, project management, and communication to stakeholders regarding logistics matters.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Analyzes, develops, and implements global transportation plans, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs.
  • Creates and reviews procedures for transportation to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
  • Identifies underperforming areas in transportation and suggests improvements or resolutions to problems. 
  • Updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures with carriers.
  • Provides metrics, KPI’s, and executes analysis used for decision making by upper management.
  • Works with local and regional management at all sites to ensure the transportation spend is accurately forecasted and within budget.
  • Develops and manages global freight auditing program to support Finance/Logistics and cost savings measures.
  • Develop and manage packaging solutions (Cold Chain and Ambient) to ensure product integrity for the designated transportation mode in accordance with ISTA standards.
  • Ensures cost effective, efficient, and traceable movement of company products both in-bound and out-bound.
  • Evaluates and provides guidance to management for all transportation and freight costs, as well as appropriate routing and carriers to be used.
  • Collaborates with global departments including Logistics, Trade Compliance, Planning, Procurement, CS, and Finance.
  • Develops and implements cost reduction and continuous improvement plans applicable to function.
  • Logistical system implementation project management experience (TMS, Freight Pay & Audit, Control Towers, and Supply Chain Visibility)

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain
  • 5-7 years’ experience in biotech or medical device company
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), management and implementation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience in transportation cold chain packaging, design & control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience in transportation analytics and cost reductions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • Comprehensive project management & problem-solving capabilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge/experience with domestics and international transportation models, specifically for small packages, air cargo, ground, and ocean.
  • Customer-focused: keeps customers as a priority when making business decisions, listening to customer feedback, and advocating for solutions that help drive improvement in the customers experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to collect data from internal/external survey, corporate databases, and design/administrate other targeted studies
  • Team oriented, collaborative partner that passionately advocates and articulates her/his opinion while maintaining flexibility to incorporate others point of views
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems that arise in relations to logistics activities
  • Ability to lead & influence a diverse indirect team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in written format in English
  • Willing & able to travel to various 10xGenomics locations, 3PL partners and customer locations, domestically and internationally
  • Willing to work as necessary to achieve defined goals and objectives

 

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP
  • Strong knowledge & experience of medical device regulations as applied to logistics
  • Strong knowledge of business systems & data management
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 and GMP/GDP systems, applications, and policies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word & Outlook)
