At AKQA Italy we are looking for Developer Interns who are passionate about technology and digital innovation and looking for an opportunity to learn and grow in a multidisciplinary environment.

During your experience with us, you will be involved with a hands-on role in digital communication projects, working closely with technical and non-technical professionals to anticipate and solve project challenges. You will be working mainly on software development activities, with the support and tutorship of senior colleagues, in projects spanning from Content Management Systems (specifically headless CMS applications), custom web applications and full-client front-end applications.

As part of our Technology team, you will learn how to leverage technical solutions to support clients’ goals, partnering with different professional figure in the design and development process to minimise technical risk and ensure a high-quality output.

The role is based in our studio in the countryside near Venice. Due to the current health situation related to COVID-19 we are mostly working remotely; since your safety is our first priority, the interview process and the onboarding might be organised either in person or virtually. Office attendance during the internship will be agreed upon as the situation evolves, to facilitate the learning and collaboration process, while preserving everyone’s health.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate is a self-starting technologist interested who has fun in expanding their knowledge of new tools and features, keeping up to date with the technology landscape. You are the right fit if you are interested in and committed to expand your professional expertise in both front-end and back-end web development, applying your skillset to a wide range of project types. 

We will be prioritizing candidates that are interested and/or have tinkered with any of these:

• CMS (e.g. Drupal, Wordpress, or any API-first service such as Contentful, GraphCMS, …)
• Headless programming (e.g. JAM Stack approach)
• Source versioning (e.g. Git, Mercurial, …)
• Frontend techs/frameworks (e.g. Vue, React, Angular, …)
• SSG (e.g. Next.js, Hugo, Gatsby, Jekyll, …)
• AI (e.g. TensorFlow, IBM Watson or any other related technology)
• 3D (e.g. ThreeJS, Unity, Blender, webGL, …).

Please note this is a junior role: while we seek and welcome candidates that are excited in getting involved from the start, we do not expect a full proficiency or a specific skill set in any of these fields.  We believe in the potential of raw curiosity and creativity as a means to grow as individuals and teams, combining backgrounds and skills of all levels to meet our clients’ goals.

For this role we require candidates with the ability to interact on an intermediate level in both Italian and English (spoken and written). We kindly ask you to mention your language skills in your application and be prepared to hold conversations in both languages.
