Meet the team:

Argo AI’s Lidar team is developing a disruptive Geiger-mode lidar enabling rich point cloud range and resolution beyond what is available in the market today for autonomous vehicles. What this means for our customers is a more capable sensor which enables safer and more performant autonomous perception systems.

Our Lidar team has a decade of history in delivering Geiger-mode products for other industries, and we are optimizing our Geiger-mode technology for automotive-oriented mass production. Our design is novel from a technical standpoint and will offer performance essential to scaling the deployment of driverless cars. As a Software Engineer in Test focused on lidar development, you will be responsible for the testing of embedded software and firmware used in our lidar products. We’re looking for someone who has expertise in software test & verification activities for safety-critical applications.

What you’ll do: 

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured software test designs, plans, and test cases
  • Develop appropriate testing methodologies, tools, and harnesses to support verification of lidar software requirements
  • Responsible for development and execution of automated tests on embedded systems including hardware-in-loop systems
  • Interface with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to identify systems interactions that must be considered for testing
  • Quantify test results and analysis into cohesive verification reports

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Python programming skills for developing and automating software and hardware tests
  • Experience working with modern build and CI systems
  • Experience with software verification of safety-critical applications (automotive, aerospace, medical)
  • Strong experience testing software targeting embedded processors (e.g., SoC, FPGA)
  • Familiarity with safety standards and related processes
  • Good experience writing concise, clear, and detailed engineering documentation
  • Open to occasional travel to remote offices, test facilities, engineering partners, or manufacturing partners
