Job description

The Head of IT Strategic Programs helps our IT and business leaders understand, plan for, manage, and reinforce strategic business transformation efforts through the integration of people, process and technology. In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight on various projects of a highly complex nature by developing robust program structures that accelerate the delivery of value to the business. a The role will help IT craft clear program strategies that enable business outcomes, account for impacts and risks, and address business partner questions and concerns. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact, using analytical, interpersonal, critical thinking, and leadership skills by bringing together business and IT leaders, enterprise architects, process owners, business analysts, and other SMEs to solve problems and design solutions.

Scope of Role:

  • This role will be the key driver in the implementation, assessment, optimization and maintenance of complex, cross-functional projects by integrating software platforms and helping the company adopt (and adapt to) new technologies that support overall business strategies.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones as well as assurance that the projects meet all the needs of their project sponsor.
  • While managing programs, build reusable assets and processes to apply consistency to other IT programs, such as: defining program methodologies, key deliverables, communication and change management plans, delivering program updates and KPIs, creating escalation paths, and budgeting and resource management. Define program outputs that illustrate how to strategically move the business forward for a variety of stakeholders across the Enterprise.
  • Lead a team of Program Managers and work with enterprise architects, IT Leadership, and key business partners to define a strategic plan for delivering new business capabilities to the enterprise. 
  • Participate in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development and develop a process for moving opportunities to program proposals. Identify key barriers to an initiatives success and actively brings new solutions to the table to creatively remove barriers to success.
  • Skills

  • Your super-powers include executive-level communication and cross-functional team building with the ability to “build a following” in IT that helps set the tone for program excellence. 
  • You are someone who is able to influence in a highly autonomous environment, who thrives on navigating ambiguity and solving new problems.
  • You have demonstrated and highly effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligenceAbility to diagnose challenges and blockers in programs and are able to navigate the organization to solve them. 
  • Deep IT application knowledge, including platforms such as ERP, commerce, CRM, and data. 
  • Experience

  • You have led large, enterprise-level business transformation programs out of IT
  • Development of Business Cases and Strategic RoadmapsPrior experience working directly with and advising senior leaders and executives, including experience presenting complex ideas and facilitating executive workshops.
  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in application development and transformation. Consulting experience is a plus
