Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, every Atlassian will have the choice to work from an office or from home.

Atlassian’s mission is to unleash the potential of every team, and it's the guiding light behind everything we do. We've developed well-known and loved products that fit into the fabric of teamwork, across different types of teams, and the processes to help every team succeed. Our Team Playbook includes some of the best practices to improve the potential of every team, and is used by our customers as well as those who have never used an Atlassian product!

We're establishing a new Technical Program Management (TPM) team whose goal is to help Atlassian deliver faster and more predictable outcomes for its customers. TPMs work closely with Engineering leadership to ensure that complex and gnarly projects, such as improving our reliability posture or migrating internal systems to cloud, are planned and managed for flawless delivery. TPMs also influence our technical strategy and align it with business objectives and delivering outcomes towards those.

As one of the founding members of this new team, this is a rare opportunity to shape a modern TPM function and craft. The goal will be to steer Atlassian through growth and increase velocity towards long term goals, when it could be easier to ensure alignment by applying brakes and slowing down. This role offers a unique challenge of finding alignment by building guardrails and removing barriers to make our teams go even faster!

Atlassian’s customers expect our cloud software to be highly reliable. You'll lead efforts that ensure we have a continuous and comprehensive view into our reliability initiatives, and are able to make good decisions around adopting new industry standards. You’ll drive projects to build and evolve tools and processes that will make adding new mechanisms simple, as well as low overhead for our software engineering teams.

On your first day, you will have:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Extensive experience leading large scale projects within software teams as a Development Manager or TPM
  • Proven understanding of business strategy, product direction, and technical architecture
  • Proven experience leading projects spanning multiple teams, being accountable for crafting and driving the schedule, making critical and timely decisions to keep project on track, tracking and managing risks and dependencies, and communication with stakeholders
  • It’s great, but not required, if you have:

  • The ability to exercise technical judgment in solving software engineering challenges
  • Experience with SaaS on public cloud
  • Experience in software development in one or more general purpose programming languages
  • Experience building tools, dashboards and automation to increase transparency and reduce toil
  • More about our benefits

Whether you work in an office or a distributed team, Atlassian is highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.
