Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Come join a product team that's innovating the way developers collaborate and share code all over the world: Atlassian is searching for a Product Designer to join the Bitbucket team in Sydney. Bitbucket is the Git solution for professional teams, used by over 60% of Fortune 100 companies. We are revolutionising the software industry and helping teams collaborate and craft that magic in delivering their best work. Think NASA launching the Rover on Mars or Cochlear gifting children born deaf with the ability to hear, your work directly impacts the products they use to advance humanity.

If you live and breathe the user experience, love solving problems and thrive on variety, this is a great opportunity for you. As a Product Designer for Bitbucket, you'll work on a small, cross-functional team of Designers, Engineers and Product Managers to innovate the way development teams share and review code to build amazing software for their customers. If you want to make a substantial impact on products that people rely on and use every day, this is an amazing opportunity for you.

You'll work on compelling design initiatives and deliver cutting edge Git code hosting tools. You will be involved in early stage research and ideation, implementation and iteration. Ultimately you'll be responsible for creating a powerful and intuitive user experience for Developers all around the world.

More about you:

  • Ideally, you have at least 3+ years of professional UX / product design experience, with at least 2 of those designing complex, enterprise-level software.
  • You have the ability to apply your design skills across product, interaction, and visual design to help create and build new features for software.
  • You've developed a deep understanding and high degree of empathy for the customer experience.
  • You have solid experience conducting customer research, as well as utilising critical skills like design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modeling.
  • You are comfortable defining projects and measures of success, testing your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporating feedback.
  • You enjoy collaborating closely with developers, designers, and other team members.
  • Ideally, you've got some technical chops: you know what "git" means and understand your way around code, even if just at a basic level.
  • More about our team
