The Cloud Engineering team is Atlassian's Cloud Centre of Excellence. We’re searching for a Senior Engineer to join the team and help keep our cloud practices lean and mean.

A typical day in the job will see you maintaining and improving our tooling, on/off boarding AWS accounts, automating configuration management, security and compliance monitoring, and standards enforcement. Your passion for researching Cloud Services in depth will see engineering teams throughout the business seek your guidance on using them safely and at scale.

An ideal candidate is someone who is eager to learn new things, keeps on top of industry trends (particularly those related to cloud technologies) and loves to share their knowledge with others.

Cloud Engineering was crafted to specialise in the design and application of proven methodology principles to Atlassian's hosted services and infrastructure. Currently 5 strong and from a variety of backgrounds, the team's mission is to thoroughly examine current and emerging cloud technologies and practices, with the purpose of optimising their use at Atlassian. As Atlassian grows, our challenge is to ever improve our ability to scale with our customers, providing faster and more efficient ways of empowering them yet maintaining consistency.

As each year passes our mission becomes more ambitious as we strive to optimise the financial, operational, and security practices our ever growing cloud presence. We build and maintain services that touch every corner of Atlassian's infrastructure, spanning 100’s of accounts, and effecting 1000’s of internal customers.
