Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Interested in managing a converged network that connects more than 5000 people in major offices around the world? Get on board as a Senior Network Engineer based in our San Francisco office!
As part of the Workplace Engineering Team, you’ll be supporting and maintaining our corporate network, along with the services and devices that protect it. You’ll build solutions and solve technical problems—small and large—from BAU, fault finding and fixing issues to documentation, training others, and managing incidents. A typical work week might include: transitioning to a new SIP provider in a remote office, troubleshooting routing and switching or WiFi issues, supporting new office builds and deployments, and working with the team to develop network standards and documentation. You'll find improvement opportunities, participate in developing and refining policies and procedures, and help build a robust network infrastructure which scales and operates efficiently. One thing we promise: you’ll never be bored.

More about you

The right person for this job remains cool under pressure, retaining the ability to follow established process and procedure, even when change occurs quickly. You're self-motivated, manage your time well in all contexts, and know when to ask for direction. You actively seek to develop yourself and define your role. You are engaged in your working relationships, provide and receive feedback graciously, and are experienced working with a globally distributed team. You search for opportunities to automate your work.

Things we expect you to arrive with on Day 1:
• 5+ years working with converged Corporate and Campus networks, with an advanced understanding of routing/switching, WiFi, WAN, security, and telephony.
• Network operations expertise, including automation, monitoring, and incident response.
• Deep understanding of Juniper firewalls and Cisco network tools, including routers and switches, APs, WLCs, ASAs, and ISE.
• Deploying and maintaining services in AWS and VMWare environments, using Windows Server and Linux platforms.
• Documentation skills, such as troubleshooting run-books and as-built documents.
• CCNP certification.

Things that would be great but we already have or you can grow into:
• Capital project coordination and execution experience, such as expanding existing offices and fitting-out new offices.
• IPv6 transition planning and deployment expertise.
• Disaster Recovery/Resiliency planning and testing.
• Experience with development frameworks and languages, specifically Python 3.
• Exposure to modern SRE practices.
