Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

We are seeking a Senior Real Estate Project Manager on the Atlassian Workplace Experience TEAM to support our North America and EMEA real estate portfolio. Based in Austin and reporting to our regional Real Estate and Development Lead in San Francisco, you will be responsible for leading real estate and tenant improvement works across our rapidly growing portfolio.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the projects including – feasibility, design management, procurement, construction delivery, negotiations with external partners, workplace design and construction activities, internal and external communications, budget setting and management, including significant focus on cash flow.

You will actively collaborate with partners across a wide range of subject areas to deliver our projects successfully. You will have a passion for innovating in workplace design and development, with an emphasis on accessibility and sustainability.

This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills and serious organization as you navigate our globally dispersed company. Success in this role also requires comfort with systems management and administration tools. 

As an employee of a global business, you may need to travel locally and abroad 10-20% of your time [dependent on the location of future projects and partners].

Short Term Success (3-6 months) includes:
Developing positive relationships with internal Atlassian partners and external team members and consultants
Understanding Atlassian’s culture, values and operating style
Developing a clear facility with Atlassian management, procurement and tracking tools
Getting familiar with the real estate portfolio and drivers for expansion

Mid Term Success (6-18 months) includes:
Having total ownership of all projects under your responsibility – quality, design, schedule and budget
Driving project management with validated PM skills – achieving outstanding results through collaborative behaviors consistent with Atlassian Values
Driving sustainability objectives in our projects, participating in WE Team broader workstreams and initiatives as they arise from time to time
Encouraging collaborative relationships with WE Team members in the APAC regions

Long Term Success (18-36 months) includes:
Being recognised as a key contributor and valued member of WE Team 
Developing skills and tools that improve and bring higher value to WE team
Team development

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/Undergraduate 4-year degree
  • 10 years of property or construction industry experience with at least 2 years on the client/end-user side
  • 5 years of direct vendor management experience (ideally not located in the same office)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Significant experience with fitout and new construction projects
  • Optimal Requirements:

  • BA with Graduate Degree in a relevant field of study
  • 10-15 years’ experience in Construction Management
  • 5-10 years of commercial interiors development experience
  • 10 years of direct vendor management experience
  • Experience with direct reports and in team development
  • Real estate transaction experience
