The marketing team at Carousell is responsible for growing and nurturing the marketplace of sellers and buyers. The team works cross-functionally to meet the business goals for the market, and strives to ensure that Carousell keeps our users at the heart of what we do at all times. The team is young, dynamic, creative, nimble and most importantly, looks out for what is helpful, relevant to and considerate of our users’ needs.

We’re looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial senior manager who will oversee the marketing of the Services, Property and Autos categories across our six countries, ensuring users, engagement and leads or transactions are growing in these categories. The Regional Category Marketing Senior Manager will have the exciting responsibility of working with the category managers to align on the strategic marketing direction of these three categories, so that we can best serve our users’ needs.

In the long term, this role has the potential to grow into a bigger one, overseeing category marketing for other categories such as Fashion & Luxury and Electronics.

This role will report into the Regional Head of Category and Country Marketing. 

You will:

  • Work closely with Category Managers/Directors to align category marketing strategies to the category business strategy
  • Be or become an expert in the categories of Services, Property and Autos, and work with the local marketing teams in Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong, to provide user-centric input to the Category Managers/Directors & Product Managers for building high quality category experiences for our users
  • Work with the local marketing teams in Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong to deploy marketing budgets for these three categories
  • Guide and review any qualitative and quantitative research needed to understand the needs of users, and which channels are most effective at engaging them.
  • Develop strategic regional marketing campaigns that serve value to our users and encourage them to chat and transact, using all available marketing channels.
  • Keep track of the business metrics within the three mentioned categories, and work with the category marketing managers to optimise where needed accordingly, with the understanding of how to impact them with marketing levers
  • Develop marketing playbooks for each category across the three markets, with the support from the Autos, Property and Services category teams, and local marketing teams
  • Build and maintain relationships/networks with relevant stakeholders, such as product and business, on a regional level, in ways that help to deliver strategies/plans with smooth and timely delivery

You have:

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Highly capable of handling multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • A Carousell user and/or familiar with using the Carousell app and its features
  • Able to share a portfolio of past marketing campaigns
  • Able to multitask and adapt quickly to changes
  • Familiarity with a variety of communications platforms, including social media, above-the-line and earned media
  • Experience with content creation, CRM and integrated marketing campaign design/management
  • In-depth familiarity and experience in one or more of the categories: Services, Property, Autos, and Fashion & Luxury
  • Degree in business and/or marketing and communications, with a minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in a relevant integrated marketing role
