Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Associate Creative Director, Copy to join our Studio Team in Dania Beach, FL. You will be responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into consumer facing messaging for our content across all our media platforms. You will need to write brand copy for Chewy that reflects our stature as the #1 Online Pet Retailer to attract, engage and connect with consumers. Additionally, you will be responsible for our storefront content and promotions, digital campaigns and multimedia projects to make sure they are accurate, entertaining and concise. You will work directly with our creative director to maintain effective concepts and develop new ideas. 

You have extensive experience supporting consumer brands and identity systems across diverse touchpoints. You have worked with creative brands, and have successfully contributed to and lead writing teams. You are able to communicate a vision to your Creative leadership & design partners with clarity and conviction. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, engaged, and have a passion for our industry as well as partnering with our creative leadership to align with our core brand vision. You’ll have to be a diplomat, a bridge builder, and a critical thinker along with a love for storytelling and creative writing.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the Studio workflow with development, delivery and in some cases strategic thinking of all creative projects in partnership with all other teams (website, digital, marketing, product, social etc.)
  • Able to collaboratively execute the vision and ideas of others to create content at scale
  • Support, lead and direct a team of talented Copywriters
  • Oversee assigned projects from concept to completion and ensure quality is up to brand standards
  • Maintain brand copy guidelines that ladders up to the Chewy brand
  • Help run a diverse team of 5 copywriters by mentoring, proofing and partnering on creative asks

What You'll Need:

  • 6-9 years of experience with an advertising/design agency or at a similar in-house agency
  • Digital expertise and prowess. We’re an eComm company and nearly everything we do lives in this world. You’ll be expected to have expert knowledge and understanding of: Driving revenue in the eComm world, driving traffic, performance marketing, user experience and journey from various online touchpoints to site and beyond.
  • How do you use consumer insights and how does that data drive: Your decision making, your creative process, the copy you write and the story you tell.
  • Leadership skills: How do you develop, teach, train and manage a team of copywriters in various location from various backgrounds?
  • Knowing and understanding what makes a truly good brief
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilize resources, identify and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player, positive and innovative thinker
  • Highly motivated and a high level of initiative; ability to work independently, in support of Marketing’s creative goals and Chewy’s business objectives
  • Must be able to really sell. From banners to emails, to the Chewy way of life, knowing how to utilize our brand tools and design assets to keep Chewy as the destination for all things pet is a must
  • Must be a good steward, mentor and partner
  • Must be highly collaborative within the creative space to bridge the gap between design and copy as well as other marketing and studio partners
  • Expert level portfolio with multiple examples of how you lead creative from concept thru execution and how the business prospered
  • Position may require travel
