Our Opportunity:

Chewy is currently recruiting for a Corporate Buyerreporting to a Manager, Procurement, at our headquarters in Dania Beach, Florida. Chewy is one of the fastest growing e-commerce enterprises around and is rapidly disrupting the traditional pet specialty channels. You will support the procurement manager in leading the organization’s corporate purchasing/procurement function, focusing on corporate purchasing. This is the opportunity to make an immediate, meaningful and lasting impact to our fast growing company. You’ll be working with the procurement manager on various purchasing activities  throughout the P2P process. Though you will be supported by your Finance teammates, you’ll be the company’s agent so you must be able to roll up your sleeves and deliver results. You should plan to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and scale with the company.

What You'll Do:

  • Process purchasing requisitions and create the corresponding purchase orders
  • Manage open PO report to proactively resolve purchasing problems concerning invoice discrepancies, requisitions discrepancies, etc.
  • Work with Accounts Payable as needed to reconcile invoice discrepancies
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice, PO and other discrepancies
  • Advice internal stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle
  • Support sourcing projects, including managing competitive bids, RFPs, examining proposals, analyzing bids, and more
  • Analyze spend and other data, manage bench marking and reporting, including presenting them in both qualitative and qualitative formats
  • Conduct the necessary internal due diligence, partnering with other teams in the organization, to build a project’s baseline
  • In partnership with the procurement manager select vendors and lead major negotiations to procure corporate categories (e.g. Marketing, IT, Human Resources, and facilities)
  • Research potential suppliers for projects and assist in getting NDAs signed with any new supplier
  • Build and analyze complex pricing models based on stakeholders’ requirements
  • Transform multiple and complex streams of information into simple, clear and concise terms to be presented to stakeholders
  • Assist the sourcing category manager in evaluating suppliers through KPIs

 What You'll Need:

  • Demonstrate initiative and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical background
  • Highly motivated, resourceful and able to think clearly under pressure
  • Ability to flourish in an environment of fast growth and ambiguity
  • Strategic thinking mindset to define the best negotiation methodology/tactic per project to maximize goals and achievements
  • Strong negotiations skills, a history of creating value for organizations, passion for achieving and demonstrating results
  • BA/BS in business, supply chain, procurement or finance, plus a minimum of 2+ years of sourcing/procurement experience; advanced degree is preferred
  • Oracle ERP experience a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to be able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented and data driven environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office application
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel proficiency
  • Experience running competitive request for proposals (RFPs) preferred
  • Interpersonal experience
  • Strong sense of personal accountability for evolution and success of the entrusted space
  • Prioritize and redirect under pressure
  • Travel may be required
