Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Director of Benefits to join our Total Rewards Team based in Dania Beach, Florida. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, the Director of Benefits leads a small team, and is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and functional design for Chewy’s health and welfare, retirement, wellness, and work-life plans and programs. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in benefits design, principles, and practices, and can collaborate across HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure our Benefits are fit for purpose, competitive, and compliant.

What You'll Do:

  • Works closely with the broader Total Rewards team to design, implement, communicate, and administer the organization’s benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, time off programs, and retirement
  • Optimize benefits spend to balance business requirements, employee value, market competitiveness, and government requirements
  • Coordinate with external advisers and legal counsel to ensure that all benefits are compliant with all federal and local government regulations including ERISA and ACA; manage all required filings and reporting
  • Benchmark benefits plans and ensure market competitiveness and modify existing, and design new plans as appropriate
  • Prepare and present annual benefits recommendations to Senior Leadership
  • Own implementation and communication for all plans
  • Acts as a subject matter expert to the Investment Committee for retirement plans ensuring that adequate processes and controls are in place to meet the Company’s fiduciary responsibility
  • Plan and administer annual and new hire open enrollment; together with benefits manager and benefits analyst, coordinate system functionality with HR operations and all vendors, and prepare all employee facing materials

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in HR or related discipline
  • Master’s degree and/or benefits certification a plus
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in Benefits, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, focused on Benefits plan design and administration
  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills evidenced through experience partnering with senior level executives across HR, Finance, Legal, and the C-suite to implement new plans and/or changes to existing plans
  • Position may require travel
