Chewy is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst who is hands-on in a start-up operation, enthusiastic, detail oriented and customer driven for our Dayton, OH fulfillment center. This person will be someone who likes change and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day. This will be an essential position in implementing, and monitoring procedures to ensure that the proper inventory is in all warehouse locations. The position will assist management in the development and implementation of a formal program to audit all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy. This individual will lead the cycle counts in a program to identify and eliminate any problems found in daily cycle counts.

  • Maintains integrity of the physical inventory by location
  • Analyzes and monitors the financial and operational impact of inventory adjustments
  • Researches transaction history to determine the source of inventory variances and order filling errors
  • Generates active locations for new items
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with Fulfillment Center Associates
  • Executes inventory transfers and reassigns active locations resulting from HJ Slotting analysis
  • Monitors inventory levels very closely and resolves any issues that may become apparent
  • Performs Cycle counts as directed by the WMS
  • Ensures proper product rotation utilizing FIFO
  • Ensures proper classification and storage of inventory
  • Effectively queries inventory and all order-related transaction history
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Ability to help develop policies and procedures that help mitigate inventory discrepancies

 What you'll need:

  • Experience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes
  • 1+ years of experience in fulfillment center/warehouse operations; prefer retail/e-commerce experience
  • Detailed understanding of all warehouse practices and procedures
  • Excitement for working in a start-up environment with high level of ambiguity and change
  • Customer service obsession, with willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
  • Highest levels of integrity and ethics
  • Comprehensive understanding of High Jump transaction history and product flow
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
  • Certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certification preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills; ability to resolve inventory issues effectively and efficiently
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel used heavily in this role.
