Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Manager, Forecasting Analytics to join our Supply Chain Team based in Dania Beach, FL. The Manager will lead a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Analysts who are responsible for driving forecast improvements through new processes and algorithms for all areas of Forecasting including (but not limited to): top line Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasting to drive labor planning, item location sales forecasts to drive replenishment, new item forecasting, promotion forecasting, and item cluster forecasts. The Supply Chain team operates in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions and technologies which will handle the growing business needs and play a key role in redefining what it means to be a world-class Data Science and Supply Chain organization.
What you'll do:
- Mentor and manage a team of highly talented data scientists and analysts
- Support the team in model and algorithm development
- Take business requirements and problems and structure them into clearly defined data science and statistical projects
- Communicate technical solutions and complex models to business partners
- Partner with cross functional business leaders to deploy work and share insights
- Work with Supply Chain leadership to build a roadmap and clearly defined vision for the team
What you'll need:
- 5+ years' experience designing time series, econometric, and machine learning solutions for large scale applications
- Experience managing a team of 3+ analysts/data scientists
- Ability to understand and apply advanced mathematics
- An advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent experience) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- R or Python mastery
- SQL expertise
- Extensive experience working with Time Series Models and Econometrics
- Ability to translate complex data sets and research into simple business recommendations.
- Ability to use collaborative programming tools (Git, Confluence, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Position may require travel
Bonus:
- Supply chain experience
- Demand Planning experience
- E-com, Retail, or startup experience is a plus.
