Our Opportunity:

The Chewy fulfillment network is seeking a Regional Quality Manager to help scale our explosive growth.  This position requires a candidate with the proven experience to build a structured quality program and be able to drive process improvements throughout the value-stream.  They need to have proven analytical capabilities, good communication, strong project management skills, and an ability to root cause and permanently eliminate defects.  This person needs to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment that includes existing fulfillment centers and future launches.  In addition, they need to be technically and operationally smart to gain credibility with customers and stake holders at various levels of the organization.  This individual should be comfortable in managing projects in parallel with varying levels of priority while hitting aggressive timelines.  In addition, they should be comfortable with Microsoft Office (excel), SQL, and possibly other analytics software to facilitate data analysis.  Warehouse operations, statistics, DMAIC (Six Sigma), and continuous Improvement experience is a plus.  Our team is made up of seasoned entrepreneurs and business executives with demonstrated success in growing world class companies.  We are passionate and results driven but down-to-earth. What you'll do:

  • This role will demand travel >=50% to work with the operations team across the network and help build bandwidth for the network team when staffing constraints or gaps occur.  Launch support is also a key responsibility.
  • Previous experience in running a warehouse Inventory Control and Quality program; including KPI development, program development, compliance and operational execution, and process improvement.  Multi-Site experience is a plus.
  • Track record of developing and executing LEAN and Six-Sigma initiatives that deliver results; with a history of getting it done.
  • Has the ability to partner to build and execute on new initiatives with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Think Big and push the boundaries of the quality space and be unsatisfied with the status quo.  The candidate needs to be able to develop and set the strategic roadmap for the quality space. 
  • Ability to oversee and track projects through to completion, and at times escalating concerns if critical performance or projects are off of plan.

  • Ability to clearly communicate to all levels of leadership results of IC and Quality KPIs and ongoing action items both verbally and written.  Ability to escalate when appropriate and willingness to do so. 
  • Previous experience doing analysis involving large and complex datasets related to inventory records, transactional data, warehouse operations, and customer shipment data.
  • Familiarity with writing queries and pull datasets from tables to facilitate analysis
  • Complex problem solving and familiarity of physical and virtual warehouse environments.
  • Microsoft Office expert, especially Excel including analysis toolbox, pivot tables, and complex functions.
  • Is comfortable collaborating and influencing team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and building support for projects with senior leadership.
  • Will compile, manage, and report on weekly project metrics and be responsible for leading meetings to align on project requirements.
  • Has the technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate directly with technical teams related to process and changes.
  • Has fulfillment center operational skills to identify and implement solutions that scale with our growth.
  • Ability to be self-directed without a lot of oversight.
  • Previous experience with Statistics, DMAIC, and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s or an equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational, management, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and a desire to advise strategic company decisions
  • Desire to drive the business and your space like an entrepreneur that owns the business.
  • Position may require travel
