Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Photographer to join our in-house studio photo team and work side-by-side with passionate pet lovers. The ideal candidate would be responsible for capturing visual concepts in accordance to clients briefs while partnering with Art, Styling and Pet Teams to deliver the highest quality on brand content for Chewy.

What You'll Do:

  • Able to translate creative briefs into on set team direction.
  • Capable of gathering shoot information and relaying key take always to team.
  • Able to recognize process efficiencies and actively address breakdowns professionally. 
  • Expert knowledge of DSLR cameras and various types of capture and editing software, including the Adobe Suite and Capture One.
  • Engage Team leader and Art Department to offer creative solutions on set and in process.
  • Receive effectively constructive criticism as well as provide it to Assistant Photographers
  • Communicate professionally in “shoot” and “Project” chats using Slack.
  • Trouble shoot lighting and set issues fluidly.
  • Name and processing images, back up originals EIP’s
  • Adjust lighting and sets while providing support for pet and style teams.
  • Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment.
  • Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures.
  • Able to lead a team on set or location mutinously.
  • Understand of how operations, production, and art departments work within a marketing framework.

What You'll Need:

As a Senior Photographer at Chewy you will be on set working with pets and leading teams to orchestrate a variety of imagery that spans Pet on White (POW), PDP imagery and campaign photography for website or mailers. You’ll need to manage strong and effective internal partnerships and be able to thrive in a deadline driven environment. A senior photographer at Chewy you should recognize and encourage team strengths while providing support on team challenges. You should also possess the ability troubleshoot and pivot as needed professionally and with positivity to creating a safe, friendly, pet-centric working environment.

  • Minimum 4+ years of onset production experience within a marketing environment.
  • Able to run a set with a professional attitude and a team support mentality.
  • Possess a quality driven outlook able to pivot based on project requirements and changes in scope.
  • Deliver excellence in the creative photography process
  • Capable of responding to Creative Directors and Stakeholders requests fluidly.
  • Ability to internalize Chewy style guide standards.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to adapt to pet challenges.
  • Proficiency in online communication tools such as Slack and Webex.
  • Expert understanding of Capture One and Photo editing tools.
  • Expert ability to utilize DSLR Cameras (i.e. aperture, shutter speed, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel domestically if necessary.
  • Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates strong lighting skills for Silo Photography, tabletop and/or lifestyle.
