Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Workday Functional Analyst to join our HRIS team based in Dania Beach, FL. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Configuration and Support, including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Security and Reporting. This role will support and drive the implementation, as well as post go-live support for new functionality and enhancements within Workday.

You will partner across functional business teams, translating complex business needs to effective solution design recommendations, ensuring data, configuring and security meet requirements.  This role will leverage your deep functional expertise to understand process and systems requirements and contribute to the development, testing and deployment activities for HCM technology as part of the HRIS team.

What you'll do:

  • Provide consultation and collaboration to cross-functional teams both inside and outside of HR, acting as the Business Analyst and configuration expert for Workday
  • Document requirements and functional specifications to support HCM and organizational needs for systems implementation, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Develop project plans using data gathered, constraints, and probable consequences. Ensure adherence to project schedule and other specifications
  • Support the development, operation and maintenance of Workday modules
  • Create, edit and remove organization security roles in Workday
  • Act as the lead for feature releases and issue resolution, working with business users, IT, vendors and other support teams to define scope, prioritize, plan and implement system changes and enhancements
  • Support timely identification and escalation of risks and development of alternative technical and functional approaches when necessary
  • Manage project deliverables and milestones and specified project tasks
  • Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and provide key support in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Help develop necessary communication and training materials in support of system navigation and changes
  • Deliver training programs for HR staff and general employee/manager population with respect to system access and utilization
  • Guide HRIS team and provide hands-on tier 2 or 3 operational support for system or data issues, complex system/process questions and change requests
  • Perform security impact analysis due to change requests or Workday upgrades
  • Ensure all processes are followed as documented in Sarbanes-Oxley process narratives, process flows, and control matrices. Perform audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Develop, operate, and support Workday with maintaining controls and ensuring controls are in place for all aspects for audits
  • Conduct high level needs analysis and recommend service improvements to increase the efficiency of the Workday system
  • Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards
  • Develop and maintain awareness of both current and new functionality
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen
  • Cross-Train in 2-3 functional areas of Workday to provide supplemental HRIS support

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of Workday experience or training preferred. Must have experience with one or more Workday modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Security and Reporting
  • Additional experience with these functional areas would be preferred - Talent, Advanced Compensation, Absence
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required
  • HR functional experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current approaches to using HR technology to solve business problems and craft creative solutions.
  • Strong statistical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with functional and IT clients
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle daily planned and unplanned operational activities
  • Demonstrated skill in attention to detail and accuracy with data
  • In-depth system knowledge and demonstrated experience with process flow and configuration design, experience implementing complex HR systems such as Workday
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively
  • Position may require travel
