TEAM:

The Sales team is looking for a Key Account Manager – Grocery West.

Position Objectives & Primary Responsibilities 

  • Build strategic plans for key Customers such as HyVee, Raley’s, Stater Brothers and Smart & Final
  • Manage downstream independents within key distributor groups – VMC/AWG and AFS
  • Work alongside Sales Strategy, Category Management and Revenue Growth teams to support planning/analytical inputs, while delivering strategic insights and decision making
  • Execute promotional plans that track against trade spend targets, drive positive gains and ROI
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement or new opportunities among your assigned customers, and execute them across distribution, price optimization, product placement, and promotional effectiveness
  • Strategically manage customer relationships across responsibility; lead and influence brokers to execute the plan with excellence
  • Build winning relationships with the retailers, broker, distributor team and category managers to ensure top notch execution and continued growth
  • Ensure that the Clif Bar story and culture is shared with brokers and customers
  • Through frequent one-on-one interaction with the Broker Reps, ensure the reps are receiving proper training and instruction to accomplish the CB&C priorities
  • Establish objectives, track performance metrics, and ensure accountability. Conduct annual review process

Position-Specific Skills Required 

  • Strong analytical, category management and forecasting skills
  • Comfortability with negotiations
  • Proven ability to produce visually compelling presentations and proficiency with Microsoft suite
  • Be a solutions leader; identify strategies and tactics for growth in a changing retail environment
  • Possess strong communication skills and comfortable with negotiation
  • Be highly adaptable. Critically evaluate and adopt new sales and marketing tactics
  • Have direct selling experience in the CPG industry, understand Retail marketplace, knowledge of current food, CPG, and retailer trends, including digital and omnichannel
  • Be a genuine Clif Bar & Company ambassador, who embodies the Clif Bar Five Aspirations and Ingredients in all communications and interactions
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (post-COVID)
