Comtravo - Empowering Purposeful Business Travel

We are a tech-savvy team of travel professionals and customer service heroes with the common goal of simplifying business travel with an AI-based approach. Being both - an extremely customer service oriented and a top tech company - our services evolve around two major applications that we develop for the internal and the external management of business trips - for our agents and for our customers, respectively. Both applications interact with our in-house booking engine and many APIs to our suppliers.

Our tech stack:

Our frontends are built in angular / typescript. Our offer and booking management backends are primarily built in node.js / typescript and consists of around 20 major RESTful services plus around 60 micro services.

We are using state-of-the-art technologies, such as natural language processing and machine learning techniques, to automate our booking and fulfilment pipelines and leverage past data to improve our customers experience. These are primarily developed in python.

We carefully design our systems to collect the right data at the right places and make such data available in a compliant way to enable a data driven mind set throughout the company.

We make heavy use of docker and terraform and are running on AWS. Services are coupled by events and run on ECS and lambda.

We invest in shared components, libraries, automated tests, monitoring and sane interfaces. Together with a strong CI/CD pipeline we are able to release many times per day to production.

YOUR TASKS

  • Serve as a technical leader and drive the future technical roadmap of Comtravo tech platform
  • Oversee the front-end and back-end communities, and work closely with the feature teams to make sure they are improving the tech stack and following the company tech strategy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across product and engineering to understand pain points, and opportunities and define and lead high-impact platform initiatives to make the most of these opportunities
  • Act as a trusted mentor and advisor to other engineers and drive the technical initiative to stay on track for the tech architecture vision delivery
  • Leverage data to understand risks, priorities and scope of business objectives and develop near term goals and strategic vision
  • Understand the future product needs and design the system architecture which will be able to fulfill it
  • Encourage and promote a culture of innovation, results and world-class engineering across the wider engineering community

    • YOUR PROFILE

  • Extensive tech experience across a range of projects with a preference for candidates with start-ups and platform building experience (5 years experience as a architect)
  • Hands-on experience driving platform transformations within high-growth environments at scale
  • Organizational and analytical skills with hypothesis-driven problem solving and turning data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving teams forward
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels across business and technology
  • Experience with javascript, Node-js, AWS (lambda functions), containerization, microservices and serverless architecture is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • You are fluent in English as your working language
