What You’ll Do

The Staff Site Reliability Engineer will take a lead role in building next generation advanced threat protection to ensure that our MSP partners and end customers can operate their businesses with confidence.  At Datto, a Staff Site Reliability Engineer is a technology focal point and an instrumental part in the success of short and long-term critical and strategic projects. This is a great opportunity to join the rapidly growing cyber security team at Datto which has been formed from the recent acquisition of BitDam.

Your job function and responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring services once they are live by measuring system health and KPIs (availability, latency, quality of alerts, etc.)
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for the product distributed applications
  • Engage and support services before they go live through activities such as:
    • System design consulting
    • Operational platforms and frameworks
    • Launch reviews
  • Contribute to systems sustainably using scripts and automation
  • Assists in root cause failure analysis and lessons learned
  • Operate in a 24x7 operational environment

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in a monitoring production environment
  • Systematic problem solving approach and strong sense of ownership to drive problems to resolution
  • Experience supporting, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed mission critical systems
  • Experience documenting processes, systems, environments and runbook procedures
  • Python & Bash coding/scripting skills
  • Previous success in technical engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated & willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
