A Look Inside the Job:

The Datto RMM team enhances and maintains the software powering the remote management and monitoring cloud service delivered from around the globe from the Amazon AWS platform. In a nutshell, RMM provides a central support desk with the tools to audit, manage, monitor and support the distributed devices of their customers. It achieves this by installing an agent onto Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android platforms which communicate in real time with our cloud service in AWS. It’s both agent based and agentless, if a device needs management we aim to support it.

We have such an exciting global team - the agent team (C#/F#) that deploys software to millions of devices on a monthly basis, the backend team (Java 8+/Spring Boot/AWS) responsible for building out a global platform to turn all that data into intelligent and proactive management insights and policies, and the frontend team (React) who build and support a UI that empowers a global customer base of MSP administrators to do more with less.

About You:

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help us build a scalable/resilient Microsoft integration into RMM - a truly exciting, highly visible, major roadmap initiative!  Being smart with an ability to get things done is key. This typically comes with years of experience but don’t let that stop you talking to us if you’re light on years but heavy on innovation - and you can demonstrate it.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you must be great at the following:

  • Experience with cloud technologies, deploying stateless microservices in a containerised environment
  • Java 8+, Spring Boot
  • Building secure/scalable/resilient software

  • Experience of consuming REST API’s
  • Being highly motivated and capable of functioning in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft GraphAPI for M365 integration (ideally with the Intune product)

Bonus skills and experience:

  • Exposure to secure software development practices
  • GraphQL
  • Knowledge of the .NET framework
  • AWS managed services: DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda (MS Azure experience is also beneficial)
  • Elasticsearch, you know, for search!
  • Contribution to open-source software
