The Role:

We are looking for a Director, Title Marketing to join our team. We are looking for a natural leader and an experienced entertainment marketing professional with a track record of building premier campaigns. This role will be responsible for leading the global launch campaigns for upcoming anime titles across a diverse range of genres while also maintaining and building relationships with our creators/licensors. You will market high-profile properties and craft a clear and distinctive show positioning, creative strategy and informed media approach that cross-functional teams can execute and collaborate on.

A successful candidate will be curious and will be able to set the strategy for our titles, ensuring they impact the business goals in both mature and developing markets. We expect that our streaming and other omni channels businesses enjoy growth to scale and engage, are attractive to licensors and their representatives, are credible with audiences, and set the pace for the rest of the industry.

The role is ideal for a candidate that will be self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and detailed. They can change directions when necessary and have the ability to balance multiple responsibilities with an emphasis on organization and attention to detail at all times. This is a fast paced position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive, and able to exercise good judgment and initiative.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a track record of building premier creative and launching campaigns that fuel excitement and passion.
  • Has deep knowledge in managing 360 integrated campaigns (including AV/trailers, digital/social, print and out-of-home).
  • Knowledge for consumers, with a demonstrated experience using consumer research and data to drive insights to inform marketing strategy and improve the consumer experience
  • A team leader with a history of articulating team purpose and priorities, and rallying teams around these. Take a hands-on approach to campaign challenges to better support them in their day-to-day.
  • Builds, develops and leads impactful teams and cultures to achieve breakthrough results; exceptionally high standards and holds self and others accountable.
  • Is a strategic problem solver with a business mind: identifying key challenges and critical levers to drive growth of Crunchyroll in the market.
  • Has a knowledge of Anime and it’s influence on culture.
  • Has experience working and forming relationships with creators and licensors
  • Is willing to adapt and cares deeply about cultural nuances that come with working with global partners (external and internal)
  • Native understanding of digital/social marketing combined with the skills to tell compelling stories for the market through media agnostic ideas
  • Experience leading and working with media and creative agencies
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns at the same time, and working with many different internal and external teams to ensure we are launching our programs seamlessly, and to the highest impact
  • Has a good understanding of marketing, social and media analytics and can apply data to the testing and optimization of campaigns.
  • Appreciates technology and can collaborate with our product team to integrate our campaigns into the member product experience.

What We Need From You:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in similar roles in entertainment, agency or other consumer brands
  • 5+ years of experience in managing large scale consumer campaigns and long-term brand building through a diverse media mix
  • 3+ years of experience in managing people
  • Strong communication, presentation skills and positive team collaboration
  • Written and verbal fluency in English (Bilingual is an advantage)
  • A curious creative mind that can help us establish meaningful connections between Crunchyroll and anime, exploring innovative ways to express our values and positioning when promoting our titles
  • Capacity to continuously provide and receive constructive, actionable feedback to and from colleague
