About the Team

The global HRBP team leads many efforts including partnering with managers across the organisation on people development and management, organisational design and headcount planning, as well as employee relations, advocating for employees, and keeping a pulse on morale and evolution of company culture. In addition to the HRBP function, our broader People team consists of People Ops, Recruiting, Workplace Operations, Learning and Diversity & Inclusion. We are a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about HR and its critical impact on an organisation!

About You:

  • 5+ years as an HRBP or related role, ideally with time at a start-up
  • In depth experience in multiple Human Resource subject areas including policy development, organisational design, talent planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, and local employment laws
  • Knowledgeable on Australia employment law, and knows how to find guidance on specific laws if unknown
  • Experience building substantial people programs that balance business and talent needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills with a tried ability to develop trusting relationships and influence at all levels within the organisation
  • Strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organisation issues
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving capabilities; as well as the ability to make thoughtful decisions independently in a complex, ambiguous, fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to roll-up your sleeves and be creative to find resolutions and get things done
  • Ability to operate independently, but a preference to succeed collectively with dedicated people who challenge you to do your best work
  • Possess outstanding discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Ideally experienced in supporting and/or regularly working with distributed team in other places in the world

A day in the life of a Manager, HR Business Partner:

  • Responsible for leading most aspects of HR support and operations in our Australia office, and ensure they're aligned with global HR strategies and business goals
  • Partner with Australia leaders, as well as U.S. based leaders to understand Australia's current state and desired future state, gaps, and priorities needed to achieve business goals
  • Provide thought leadership, coaching, and development feedback at all levels regarding organisational and people-related strategy and execution.
  • Provide expertise in planning, execution and facilitation of employee relations management
  • Use expertise on Australia labour laws to build a strong framework that balances legislation, HR policies and strategic objectives
  • Build and implement strategic people programs that build cohesive teams, lead to development, and positively impact engagement and retention
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data in order to advise key business decisions
  • Collaborate with other People Team functions (Operations, Recruiting & Learning, etc.) to inform the design and implementation of People programs
  • Ensure the effective execution of local HR operations, administration and processes, including but not limited to leading integration flows, employee data updates/maintenance, new process implementations, compliance, reporting, etc.
  • Align efforts with company culture, values and champion a positive employee experience by developing and leading HR programs that empower and engage team members
  • This role will directly report to the VP, People & Capabilities based in San Francisco, while supporting local leaders on daily basis
