Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

About The Team

The Product Team is a cornerstone of the culture and the app experience that millions of customers interact with daily. We’re responsible for making sure the products we ship provide innovative solutions to our five million+ subscribers / anime fans. We appreciate the value of understanding our users and championing their needs.

About the Role:

Crunchyroll is looking for a Principal Product Manager to drive the strategy, development, execution and performance of our video-on-demand applications. You'll be responsible for crafting a product vision for playback experience across various client platforms and evangelizing your vision within the organization to make it happen. You'll work across our Product and Engineering organizations to craft, define and execute on those features with the goal of making anime content shine on Crunchyroll’s platforms for new and existing fans alike.

About You:

  • Gather, define, and develop requirements, specifically for video experience, for Crunchyroll streaming applications
  • Experience leading and building products and features, from inception to delivery
  • Experience collaborating with product designers to create well-crafted and functional experiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear and concise requirements to Engineering and QA/QE teams
  • You know what's important to measure, how to measure it, and how to interpret the data to influence decisions and directions
  • Demonstrate strong customer empathy skills to dig at what really motivates our audience when it comes to digital social interactions and how to translate those hypotheses into product concepts and tests
  • Experience with setting multi-quarter roadmaps with a strong product vision to guide the company
  • You know how to build connections across the organization to get features delivered, from Engineering to Business to Legal and Brand
  • Possessing a technical understanding of video streaming is a plus
  • Possessing engineering and/or user experience/design background is a plus
  • The ability to work with mobile and living room applications in alpha and beta states is a plus

A Day in the Life of our Product Management Team

  • Coordinating with product design and research to understand user needs and translate those insights into features
  • Defining the roadmap for concepts and features, and advocating for them amongst business units and product management teams
  • Define, prioritize, evaluate and deliver features through various engineering teams across the company
  • Measuring the effectiveness of features and sharing results and insights within a wider organization
  • Collaborate with every part of the organization to share visions, roadmap, progress, and results while soliciting feedback and insights from teams to help your offerings even better
