About the Role
Crunchyroll is looking for a Senior ADR Writer for a full-time position. The candidate must have at least 3 yrs of ADR scriptwriting experience and some experience in a leadership role. This position will involve scriptwriting and the overseeing and training of other writers. In addition, this employee will share review duties with the current Senior ADR Writers and other special writing projects on an as-needed basis.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, creative writing, or Radio/TV/film is helpful
- 3+ years of ADR scriptwriting experience
- 1+ years of leadership experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- General understanding of anime dubbing
- Excellent writing skills; both technical and creative use of language a must
- Ability to work with others creatively, hear and adjust to different viewpoints
- Experience working under tight deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure is required
- An open mind to the flexibility of the dubbing process as we try new approaches to best provide our fans with the dubs they love
A day in the life of the Senior ADR Writer
- Review and critique ADR scripts
- Provide feedback and training for the writers
- Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks as needed
- Advise writers about writing questions and sensitivities that come up on a case-by-case basis, with the company’s best interests in mind
- Facilitate communication between writers and directors
- Maintain employee morale and interdepartmental communication
- Research assigned properties
- Transform provided English translations of Japanese scripts into adapted spoken-word English scripts; maintaining creative standards as set by the company.
