Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

Location: Tokyo

Crunchyroll K.K. is home to our Tokyo-based team, who works most closely with our licensing partners and colleagues in the anime industry. We collaborate with our colleagues around the world, to bring our communities of passionate fans together.

About the Team

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated technical individual to join our IT team. The Information Technology team supports IT services for the employee base. As an IT Senior System Administrator, you’re responsible for super serving our business users, maintaining IT Service availability as well as some project work to improve IT Services.

About You:

The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, track record of running systems and communicating effectively with leadership and the users they support. You have a history of keeping the systems functioning while improving the layout, function, and structure of the work you support. Your work has a history of enabling strategic decisions and scalability.

Technology

  • 3+ years of experience of System Administration experience
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and improving Apple and Windows computers
  • Experience with a hosted or SaaS infrastructure and its configuration and maintenance
  • Experience with issue tracking software
  • Bachelors in Technical field, or equivalent work experience

People

  • Strong written and spoken proficiency in Japanese
  • Conversational English skills
  • Strong user-support experience demonstrating patience and communicating effectively with non-technical and technical users.
  • Proficiency in communicating in person as well as over Slack or live meeting technologies.
  • Experience with writing user documentation and experience giving presentations on technical topics.

Process

  • Experience with Incident Management processes including triaging, prioritizing, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience with inventory management processes including procurement, preparation, distribution, tracking, and recovery.
  • Sensitivity toward handling and exposure of personal data and intellectual property
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Pluses

The ideal candidate has two or three of the below, in addition to the above:

  • You have worked with PCI-compliant systems
  • You have technical certifications in the domain of System Administration.
  • You have experience with AWS or GCP environments
  • You have network infrastructure operational experience with routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi, and VPN.
  • You are familiar with a scripting language (i.e. GAM, Python, etc.)
  • Admin experience with Google Workspace
  • Admin experience in at least two of the following services: Okta, JAMF, InTune, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Slack, SnipeIT, or Zoom 

A day in the life of our Sr. System Administrator:

  • Contributing to improvement Projects and Operational duties at a ratio of 40:60
  • Provide onsite IT support to Tokyo staff
  • Provide remote and occasional onsite IT support to Melbourne staff
  • Triaging support requests by users of existing IT services
  • Configuring and maintaining computers, servers, and cloud environments
  • Meeting with non-technical and technical staff to evaluate and resolve IT service issues
  • Configuring and fine-tuning IT Services and processes
  • Maintaining automation scripts
  • Modifying user groups
  • Maintaining secure permissions across all IT Services
  • Interacting with users and IT team members across multiple time zones including: Japan, Australia, USA, Latin America, France, Germany, Moldova
