Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely, and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances.

About The Team: 

We are a team of enthusiasts who dedicate their time to building reliable and scalable solutions for complex problems and our biggest challenge is to keep our anime fans satisfied. The Platform Engineering CMS team builds and maintains services responsible for the ingestion and presentation of content that are essential to our customers’ end-user experience. We promote strong engineering practices, use innovative technologies and cloud-based microservice architecture which enables us to handle very high traffic load with ease.

About You:

  • 5+ years working on API’s and/or web technologies
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and networking
  • Familiarity with code design principles, patterns, and methodologies
  • Deep understanding of the development lifecycle and engineering best-practices
  • Strong experience in Golang
  • Experience with MySQL, DynamoDB, Elastic-Search, Kinesis

Pluses:

  • Strong experience in Golang
  • Strong experience with AWS, GPC
  • DevOps experience (Applications, Infrastructures, Databases)
  • Familiarity with content management, internet video steaming
  • Experience in high-load environments
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

A day in the life of a Staff Software Engineer, CMS:

  • Work with engineers, product managers, and project managers to implement new features across Crunchyroll's CMS
  • Improve the scalability of our services through proper planning and load testing
  • Improve the availability of our platform through better monitoring, performance reporting, and error reporting
  • Improve the server response times of our APIs by profiling, identifying, and eliminating bottlenecks
  • Consider system security in every design decision
  • Work with operations to evaluate new infrastructure
  • Research and generate ways to serve our customers
  • Plan, analyze, and optimize to help our team growth
  • Support and improve internal processes
  • Collaborate with other teams within the company
