THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is one of the world’s largest ticketing and event management platforms. Last year alone, we processed close to 300 million tickets, and we employ more than 800 people worldwide. Yet, we are not widely known in India – yet. This is where you come in.

THE TEAM
You will join a growing global communications team that shapes the public awareness of Eventbrite.  We are charged with highlighting the uniquely creative events consumers can find on our platform, communicate the benefits of using Eventbrite to event creators, demonstrate the success of our scaling business to investors, to amplify our employer brand to the best talent, and to protect our brand reputation in moments of crisis. No easy feat, but our motivated team makes it fun. 

THE ROLE
Eventbrite is looking for an experienced communications professional who loves media relations and storytelling, events and networking to join our growing global communications team. It will be your job, in coordination with our team in India and the Director of International Communications, to create excitement for our company, our unique people-first company culture, our exciting mission to bring the world together through live experiences, and the innovative ways we work.
As our first communications professional in India, you will enter our local operations on the ground floor, joining us on our exciting growth journey and helping us establish Eventbrite as one of the best tech companies to work for in India. You will enjoy a lot of freedom around how you achieve your goals, with visibility for your results among the highest levels of management.
Here’s what you will be doing:
Collaborate with regional and international partners to manage and execute media relations programs that drive coverage of Eventbrite.Develop messaging and materials, including press room posts, press releases, Q&As, company statements, media lists, etc.Create and execute an executive speaking & networking program, monitoring and submitting for relevant opportunities that map to business goals, esp. recruiting targets in India.Identify and submit to awards that help profile Eventbrite as a top tech employer in India.Create and execute a social media content plan.Be the key contact and facilitator for internal communications for the team in India, in coordination with Eventbrite’s international internal communications lead.Manage inbound media requests and speaking inquiries.Help track and measure team results.Collaborate closely with marketing, data, legal and other internal departments on story development and amplification.

THE SKILL SET

  • 5+ years of professional experience in public relations.
  • Strong grasp of PR fundamentals, including media relations, an eye for stories, messaging development, spokesperson preparation.
  • Familiar with the tech/engineering community in India & related events & awards.
  • Strong consumer, business, and tech media contacts.
  • Excellent communications skills, and balance of an analytical and creative mindset.
  • Proven success in building and managing relationships with press, colleagues and leadership, and creating and implementing media campaigns. 
  • Strong writing and editing skills, along with the ability to prioritise, plan and execute simultaneous projects independently.
  • Proactive, helpful and “make it happen” attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills that will help you confidently bypass jargon to get your point across and educate others.
  • Ability to stubbornly engage and overcome obstacles that stand between you and a successful project.
