JOB DESCRIPTION


The Corporate Environmental Health, & Safety Specialist is overall responsible for designing and managing processes to protect our company's staff, patients and facilities. This role reports into the Director of EHS and Facilities, but also partners closely with operational leadership and other stakeholders across the business.

The Corporate Environmental Health, & Safety Specialist will assist with the management of the company safety program, and training initiatives. You will need to fully align standard operating procedures and business policies in driving a program well beyond basic compliance, and delivering a world-class, automated system to report, investigate and mitigate incidents involving our people, patients and facilities.

Responsibilities:

The position will assist and promote implementation and training to support EyeCare Partners overall EHS objectives, including security and crisis preparedness objectives
Assist with the identification of root causes and helps leadership develop corrective actions when needed
Maintain records for safety programs (ie training logs, reports, inspections)
Implement new or evaluate existing training programs, provided by safety director, to employees and leadership as needed
Inspect facilities to detect existing or potentially unsafe conditions
Participates in investigations on vehicle accidents and injuries
Engages associates to properly follow work methods in their daily job functions

Monitors inspection of equipment to detect existing or potential failures and recommends corrective/preventative measures where indicated
Support site management in the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (EHS) plans
Promotes a workplace that is a proactive safety culture
Provide supervisor and management training on root cause analysis
Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, AAAHC, CMS, DOT, EPA, and State/Local Regulators)
Assists with the completion of a company-wide annual EHS training plan
Promote zero-incident EHS culture throughout the company
Support execution of EyeCare Partners emergency preparedness plan procedures and policies

Requirements:
Associates degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Science, or closely related degree, or equivalent work experience required.
OSHA Certification Preferred
Experience working within healthcare with CMS and/or AAAHC accreditations Preferred
2+ years of safety and environmental experience required
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must possess a valid Driver's License
The ability to drive a strong safety philosophy and implement constructive behavior changes in operations safety
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and business ERP platforms
Analytical skills to develop reporting tools and compile analysis to senior leadership on safety trends and costs
Strong interpersonal & communication skills; proven record of building relationships within the organization and delivering timely and effective communication & training

Ability to travel up to 15%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
