EyeCare Partners is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to be a trusted member of the EyeCare Partners accounting and finance team. This position is part of the Gross Profit Accounting team within Finance, which includes subject matter experts over inventory and cost of goods sold and works closely with our Revenue Cycle Management and Operations Leadership. This team is responsible for recording aspects of Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Cost of Goods Sold, and Inventory for all lines of business in many shapes and forms. This individual will complete timely preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and work with the Manager of Accounting (Inventory/COGS/Rebates) and provide critical analysis of our Gross Profit Team’s balances and variances.

Responsibilities:

  • Own AP approvals for all business transactions coded to Inventory and COGS
  • Work effectively with Corporate Treasury team to research and advise of coding for cash posted in AR and cash received into our bank accounts monthly related to Inventory, COGS and Rebates
  • Assist with inventory count reconciliations to the general ledger and recording routine journal entries associated with inventory and cost of goods monthly
  • Prepare journal entries to ensure transactions are entered into the accounting system accurately and by close deadlines
  • Perform GL account reconciliations and monthly analysis as assigned, including owning the cleanup/coordination of all reconciling items
  • Implement standardized operating procedures and documentation to maintain and strengthen internal controls 
  • Research items included in financial audits and assist leadership with the audit process as delegated.
  • Works well with others to demonstrate cross-organizational skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Research and own monthly variances related to assigned journal entries/accounts and provide solutions and process improvement suggestions to management.
  • Possess professional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to own and drive special projects as needed with approvals of management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • Orientation within Google environment and comfort using Google products such as Drive, Chat, Gmail
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in corporate accounting, inventory/manufacturing industries.  Revenue recognition experience not required, but a plus
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems and ERP’s.  Use of Microsoft Dynamics AX and SAP is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize and resolve variances independently
  • Ability to multitask simultaneously and effectively prioritize work
  • Knowledge of Inventory systems, COGS, and integration within ERP’s 
  • Highly skilled in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, excel functions) 

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time.
