Senior Accountant

EyeCare Partners is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to be a trusted member of the EyeCare Partners. This position is part of the Financial Reporting and General Accounting team within Finance, which includes subject matter experts over consolidated financial statement presentations, technical accounting matters, and works closely with our Financial Planning & Analytics Leadership as well as several other teams across the Accounting department. This individual will utilize their knowledge to prepare timely and accurate journal entries for month end close, perform general ledger account reconciliations, assist with the annual audit, and work with the Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting to provide critical analysis of general accounting matters. 

Position Summary:  Assist with managing the monthly general ledger close process, perform account reconciliations and involvement with external audit, reporting to the Accounting Manager.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries timely and accurately by due dates per our monthly close calendar
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and monthly analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of member’s equity and statement of cash flows
  • Prepare supporting schedules for the financial statement audit 
  • Improve existing processes to gain efficiencies
  • Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ experience in public accounting or working in a finance role within a public company
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets and other accounting software. Use of Microsoft Solomon/Dynamics/SAP a plus
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills/ability to continually prioritize workload and respond to top priorities with a sense of urgency

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The job operates in a professional office environment.  The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Additionally, during month end close, may Must work 40 hours each week to maintain full time status.
