Senior Director – IT Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture 

 

Position Summary:  Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure, the Senior Director of Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture is responsible for the overall enterprise-wide effectiveness and efficiency (management, design, installation, operation, and maintenance) of our Cloud and on premise technology infrastructure supporting Eyecare Partners. The senior director will oversee network, storage, servers, virtualization, unified communications, messaging services, and infrastructure operations. This position manages effective, efficient and responsive operation of the enterprise computing function ensuring availability of business applications.

This is a key senior leadership position that is ideal for a candidate who has led experienced, technical teams and complex technology initiatives for a large, multi-site company. Successful candidates will see all technology investment from an entrepreneurial lens; will have the technical expertise and business acumen necessary to implement best practices with best in class solutions to ensure robust infrastructure solutions that meets dynamic business needs and requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Cloud and on premise technology infrastructure – Networking, Compute, Storage and cloud leveraging AWS, Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Infrastructure specific software/applications – Such as system usage/performance monitoring applications  
  • Telephone system and Contact Center Technology – Choice, management and operations
  • Workplace Solutions – Conference room technology, end user hardware, 3rd party end user software services, collaboration, and communication tools
  • Infrastructure Strategy and Roadmap – Technology infrastructure strategy and transformation roadmap in alignment with organizational scalability and growth
  • Infrastructure services SLA – Definition, management and reporting
  • Infrastructure Automation – Championing infrastructure as code and infrastructure automation
  • Driving Transparency - ensure transparency in all aspects of the IT infrastructure ecosystem
  • Strengthening Partnership - With Information Security, Business Applications, Digital  and Data teams
  • Disaster Recovery - disaster recovery plans are in place, updated as needed due to business, environmental or regulatory changes and are exercised as defined
  • IT risks/controls and accounting/finance processes - From an infrastructure perspective.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably with a large multinational organization or an organization experiencing growth in size and location
  • 5+ years in an IT Infrastructure leadership position, with experience managing technology teams supporting complex infrastructures with several locations and teams of 10+ technical resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent background or experience; Related Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and expertise across broad technology disciplines such as Compute, Storage and Networking verticals
  • Experience designing, implementing, or operating IT systems on leading enterprise platforms
  • Ability to lead and drive infrastructure change and transformation programs
  • Knowledge of varying architecture methodologies, with demonstrated ability to select and apply the appropriate method to the problem at-hand.
  • Understanding of cloud ecosystem and of current and emerging technologies and trends, with ability to rapidly assess and apply new and emerging technologies
  • A strong understanding of Information/Application Security on premise and in the cloud
  • Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery principles
  • Performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques
