Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Immunology with deep expertise in immuno-oncology and cancer vaccine development. This position requires proficiency in immunology, cancer biology and pre-clinical disease models. This individual will have the opportunity to be a project lead and work in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment as part of a highly collaborative team
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, develop and lead the research strategy for pre-clinical programs
- Lead a cross-functional team and guide all research activities from early discovery through development candidate nomination and IND-enabling studies
- Oversee the design and execution of in vivo studies in pre-clinical models of oncology (syngeneic, PDX etc) with CROs
- Manage and mentor the research team including junior scientists and research associates. Ensure timely completion of experiments and foster a culture of innovation with integrity
- Identify, evaluate and validate novel therapeutic targets to drive innovative cancer therapies
- Present program updates and data to relevant stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer biology, or related field with 6 plus years of industry experience
- Strong background in CAR-T, T cell engagers, cancer vaccines and tumor immunology
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of project leadership and mentorship skills
- Prior experience with IND or regulatory filings preferred
- Outstanding strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
