Position Summary

We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and motivated IT Manager. The primary focus of this role is to be the go-to technical resource and advocate for Generate Biomedicines scientists and staff. This involves providing high-touch support to company executives, oversight of the IT MSP providing both day-to-day end user support and SAAS administration, monitoring of and improvements to IT processes, and ownership of the company IT-related project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, improve and participate (as needed) in core IT processes, including but not limited to employee onboarding, offboarding, incident management, and change management
  • Ensure performance of MSP providing day-to-day end user and SAAS administration services meets expectations
  • As needed, provide 1st-level technical support to executives and personnel
  • Provide 1st-level network troubleshooting, coordinating with MSP to resolve network issues
  • Provide 2nd-level technical support for systems when appropriate
  • Provide end-user training and documentation for areas of expertise
  • Lead and coordinate security-related configuration and programs
  • Maintain excellent technical and project documentation and methods
  • Build expertise in the technical architecture, implementation and operation for core platforms including Microsoft 365 and other communication and identity-management systems
  • Broadly participate in the activities of the Generate Biomedicines IT/Informatics team and Flagship Digital group

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in technical customer support for IT Manager, 8 or more years of professional experience for Associate Director, including at least 4 years of leadership in industry or industry-style setting require. Direct experience supporting company executives preferred
  • A working knowledge of and experience with IT Managed Services Providers
  • Experience with developing, documenting, and maintaining processes, methods and tools
  • Project management experience, including management of technical projects with significant cross functional interdependencies
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 (including Exchange, Office Suite, and SharePoint), Active Directory, DNS; Microsoft Office 365 certification a plus
  • Experience with Okta / SSO / identity provider integrations /MFA technology
  • Experience supporting common end user computing devices, e.g. PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad
  • Experience supporting meeting room technology, e.g. telephony, video, Zoom, etc.
  • Experience in implementation and/or responsibility for computer security
  • Must have a functional understanding and experience in the administration and operation of common SAAS applications; e.g. Slack, Notion, Egnyte, etc.
  • Experience supporting wired/wireless infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
