Job Description
We are looking for a creative and highly motivated bench scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of genomics, molecular and cell biology and proficient with high-throughput screening methods in mammalian cells. The successful candidate will be working with FL69 origination team to establish the early-stage company platform, vision, and process. The ideal candidate must be independent, goal-oriented, have excellent communication skills, be motivated to learn new skills, and be driven to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Leverage expertise in high-throughput screening and CRISPR-based methodologies to support ongoing target discovery and validation work
- Design, optimize and execute pooled and arrayed functional genomics screens to discover targets and validate the mechanism of action hypotheses
- Collaborate within and across groups to develop innovative high-throughput methods for target ID and hypothesis validation
- Interaction with and management of CRO to expand and diversify internal capabilities
- Collect and interpret data and present to small project team
Qualifications
- MS in cell biology, immunology, genomics, or related field with 3 years of experience or BS with 7 years of experience, or a PhD
- Proficiency with genome editing and cell engineering using viral or CRISPR-based methods
- Hands-on experience with high-throughput screening including CRISPR screens in mammalian cells
- Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with Drug Discovery in industry setting is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, including documentation in a laboratory notebook
- Position title and compensation will be determined by years of relevant experience
