Position Summary:

The Scientist II will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of cell-based and potency assay development to support all modalities. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. This individual will join a dynamic, rapidly growing, and highly collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to:

  • Develop & qualify cell-based analytical assays to support product and process development across modalities for IND-enabling studies
  • Execute and coordinate internal potency assay strategy as technical lead
  • Coordinate scheduling of integrative teams for assays with pre-defined timed readouts
  • Coordinate and execute stability-indicating studies across modalities while balancing the needs of each program
  • Perform Design of Experiments (DoE) studies to implement robust and reproducible methods
  • Develop and qualify controls/standards, perform regular data trending, set assay specifications, and perform method qualification 
  • Independently execute development while guiding development strategy of others
  • Deliver associated analytical data for project objectives & milestones, balance potential outcomes with conclusions that drive informed-decision making
  • Collaborate with Process Development to enhance product and process understanding using fit-for-purpose, stage-appropriate analytical assay development

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with of 10+ years of industry experience, Master’s degree with 7+ years of industry experience, or a Ph.D with 4+ years of industry experience
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented with a positive and innovative attitude  
  • Strong organizational, communicative, and analytical skillsetwith previous independent analytical development experience
  • Extensive cell biology knowledge with primary & mammalian cell culture experience required
  • Proficient knowledge of associated analytical techniques: flow cytometry, FACS, cell-based assays
  • Good leadership skills, strong desire to both learn and mentor, and ability to contribute at a high level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with ELISA, RT-qPCR, and basic molecular biology skillset
  • Previous CMC experience
  • Previous experience with JMP or Design of Experiments software
