Position:
Generate Biomedicines is seeking a motivated and talented Research Associate with experience in molecular biology and protein engineering. They will perform high-throughput screens to both rapidly generate data to inform Generate’s machine learning models and to characterize candidate therapeutic molecules. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of world-class scientists in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, and DNA purification
- Execute high-throughput screening and characterization of candidate proteins using yeast display and flow cytometry
- Contribute to NGS sample preparation and sequencing
- Support the development of additional screening platforms
- Work independently to design, interpret and troubleshoot experiments and communicate results to the team
Qualifications:
- B.S or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related field with relevant experience
- Proficiency with DNA cloning and purification
- Experience with culturing of microbial cells (yeast and bacteria)
- Knowledge of protein characterization techniques (flow cytometry, ELISA, SPR, BLI) beneficial
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills
