Position:

Generate Biomedicines is seeking a motivated and talented Research Associate with experience in molecular biology and protein engineering. They will perform high-throughput screens to both rapidly generate data to inform Generate’s machine learning models and to characterize candidate therapeutic molecules. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of world-class scientists in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, and DNA purification
  • Execute high-throughput screening and characterization of candidate proteins using yeast display and flow cytometry
  • Contribute to NGS sample preparation and sequencing
  • Support the development of additional screening platforms
  • Work independently to design, interpret and troubleshoot experiments and communicate results to the team

Qualifications:

  • B.S or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related field with relevant experience 
  • Proficiency with DNA cloning and purification
  • Experience with culturing of microbial cells (yeast and bacteria)
  • Knowledge of protein characterization techniques (flow cytometry, ELISA, SPR, BLI) beneficial
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills
