What will you be doing?

As a Technology Director, you would be managing a team of technologists (Design Technologists, Solution Architects, and Product Managers) as well as oversee a number of diverse projects.  On the management side, you are responsible for resourcing our talented technologists to different efforts, setting team goals, creating the development plans for each person under your leadership, and conducting reviews throughout the year.  On the execution side, you will participate in projects as well as oversee others.  From research through concepting and prototyping to development, your responsibility will be to provide technology leadership to the efforts you are working on while ensuring the technology deliverables are of top quality.  You will interact with client counterparts typically at the executive level.  Finally, a Technology Director also works in conjunction with the Business Development team to define and evolve new service offerings, close new business relationships with clients, and actively participates in business development efforts such as proposals, pre-sales meetings, project estimation/scoping activities, and resource allocation.

 

The Contribution: 

  • Oversee all their studio’s software development projects
  • Define and document best practices and case studies for development and quality assurance
  • Provide day-to-day management of their studio's technology team (direct and indirect management of 10+ people)
  • Work proactively with a studio's management team to address your team's utilization (including your own) and career development
  • Develop and close new business relationships with clients in conjunction with the Business Development team
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for business development efforts such as proposals, pre-sales meetings, project estimation/scoping activities, and resource allocation
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and industry leaders
  • Make hiring decisions for a studio's technology team
  • Travel 20-40%

 

We want you to have:

  • 10+ years of professional experience managing and nurturing technology teams
  • Proven record of successfully leading projects through an entire production deployment release and operations lifecycle
  • Expertise in web technology strategies, best practices, and emerging trends and standards in relation to rich media delivery, cloud services, SOA, multiple device convergence, e-commerce, enterprise applications, and related
  • Expertise in preparing and delivering proposals and presentations to all levels of a client's organization (including executives)
  • Experience with project and product management and a variety of software development methodologies
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with multidisciplinary distributed teams (including designers, developers, architects, QA engineers, and executives)
  • Enthusiasm to define and document best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing efforts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, engineering, or a creative discipline is required (a master's degree and/or project management certification is preferred)

It would be a bonus if you had:

  • Designed complex technical architectures and software ecosystems
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and creating proof-of-concept demos
  • Explored many different areas of technology, like web, mobile apps, IoT, or AR/VR
  • Experience with projects that have many different moving parts or multiple teams developing in parallel
  • Experience in business development and managing client relationships
