Local Marketing Associate

As the Marketing Associate, you will work with the local marketing team to create, promote and execute events, workshops, and other creative, local campaigns that will drive traffic and grow General Assembly’s presence in Singapore. This is a role for a motivated team player who wants to be part of a fast-paced, growing educational community. You will be responsible for increasing the size of the General Assembly audience and maintaining a highly engaged community that adds value to GA students, campus and business. 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Contribute your creativity and expertise to drive GA's holistic marketing plan, taking ideas for new events, workshops, and local campaigns from concept stage through to launch.
  • Identify and market new and existing compelling topics by creating enticing event descriptions and marketing materials.
  • Social media management: You will be responsible for running the show on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media channels to elevate GA’s brand and overall visibility to external audiences. You will also be responsible for managing GA’s incoming customer messages via 
  • Execution and Scheduling: You manage all aspects of program execution and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. From making sure speakers show up on time to checking the A/V to writing copy and coordinating with our admissions team on strategic alignment with course launches, you are a rockstar at ensuring details are in place. You will be the face of GA and responsible for high-energy introductions and kickoffs for programs.
  • Manage a busy schedule of activities and events that run every day and night of the week.
  • Support event and workshop operations by handling administrative duties such as instructor onboarding, and pre and post program email communications to attendees, partners and speakers
  • Collect and report on feedback from events and workshops 
  • Serve as the main point of contact and representative 2-3 evening evenings a week ensuring a quality experience for partners, speakers and attendees

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1 - 2 years experience in marketing / event organisation preferred. 
  • Familiarity with the Singapore tech community is a plus
  • You are highly organized: When it comes to workflow, you take pride in your organizational skills. You can coordinate multiple projects at once and work with all necessary parties externally and internally to get the job done. You have the ability to multitask, prioritize, problem-solve, and execute in a timely fashion.
  • You are data-driven and comfortable with using and interpreting data to make decisions, present new ideas, and set strategies.  
  • You possess a “growth mindset” attitude towards learning and teaching as a craft.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a proven ability to work collaboratively on a team demonstrating interpersonal savvy. Basic design skills are a plus.

  • You can navigate an ever-changing, fast paced startup environment and demonstrable ability to come up with solutions
