Your Work-life Opportunity:

The Courier Growth team is responsible for actively providing innovative ways to make sure we are effectively acquiring, onboarding and retaining the right amount of couriers in every city. The team's scope covers everything from lead generation to guiding new couriers through the delivery of their first order. 

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead and be the support backbone of the cross-functional team consisting of mobile, backend and full-stack engineers, helping them grow and ensuring that they are motivated by their work and are a high-performing team.

Be a Part Of a Team Where You Will:

  • Hire, lead and grow 8 to 10 engineers, through mentoring, coaching, goal setting and continuous feedback
  • Support the team through different stages of maturity, building an inclusive and high-performance environment that is aligned with our Glovo values
  • Lead by example and motivate your team while bringing in new ideas on how to improve their way of working
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of features & services owned by the team
  • Support the team in the delivery of projects to the expected quality by following our engineering principles & guidelines
  • Work closely with the product manager of your team to create a clear mission and vision for the team, ensuring that there are well-defined engineering and product Objectives & KPIs
  • Actively unblock cross-team dependencies and develop processes that help accelerate delivery
  • Be the contact point for the team and actively communicate the progress to stakeholders and management 
  • Actively collaborate with your colleagues and learn from each other in a supportive environment that allows you and your team members to grow, develop and make a difference

You Have:

  • Egalitarian management style
  • Degree in computer science or similar
  • At least 5 years in an Individual Contributor or Technical Lead role with a track record of working on a complex, large scale, impactful projects
  • +2 years managing an agile team of engineers with proven ability to grow your team/hire, track its velocity and keep them motivated
  • Proven ability to define clear Objectives & KPIs, and gather the necessary data to back up decisions
  • Experience working with microservices end-to-end
  • A deep sense of ownership with clear, demonstrable experience of proactiveness
  • Ability to understand the impact of changes within an engineering organization and how best to manage that impact
  • You are capable of being hands-on when needed and can help the team in technical discussions
