In the context of “giving users easy access to anything in their city”, Q-commerce (Quick Commerce) is the business unit that aims to provide immediacy to all product needs that a user might have, from delivering a video game to sending a gift... to filling up their fridge. We do that through 3 verticals:  Groceries with Partners, Groceries with our own Micro Fulfillment Centers (MFCs), and Retail Shops.

The Q-commerce team is organized into 3 verticals: Groceries through Partners, Shops and Pharma and Groceries through Micro Fufillment Centers  - MFCs, our very own supermakets.

As part of the MFCs Vertical team, the Strategic Vendor Manager is a new position in our structure: as our business expand, supporting local teams in effectively selecting and managing Vendor  will be key to guarantee we have the right assortment at competitive prices.

As Global Strategic Vendor Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for shapping Glovo’s MFCs Global vendor strategy. This role will not be responsible for negotiating deals locally, but defining the tools and processes to enable local teals to select supplier and identifying opportunities of improvement for 14 countries.
  • Own the Gross Margin KPI, seeing the impact of your work directly reflected on the business P&L;
  • Work closely with the local teams, understanding their specific needs and enabling them to achieve the gross margin targets you will set;
  • Assessing the opportunity of negotiating deals with main CPGs  on Regional or Global levels;
  • Have the opportunity to work together with the Brands Monetization team to capture marketing investments from our suppliers.
  • Develop and implement analytical tools and monthly dashboards to monitor Key Performance Indicators linked to the current providers' landscape and the category costs;

As Global Strategic Vendor Manager you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in category management in a Retail company, as an account manager in CPG or in Consulting projects related to retail;
  • Ability to work across different geographies and in-country restrictions; 
  • An analytical mindset to transform data into meaningful insights;
  • Strategic thinking to translate strategies into plans that can be effectively executed;
  • Be able to influence local teams in order to get your plans effectively implemented;
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to build  KPIs and processes from scratch;
  • Interest in start-ups, technology, and a fast-paced environment;
  • Proactive, organized, and obsessed with details;
