Your work-life opportunity:

We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Central Data Science team, under the Data and Strategy organization. This role is responsible for planning and executing a variety of projects to support data scientists and reporting throughout the company.

You will apply your understanding of tech, data and project management principles to drive initiatives in one of the fastest growing domains at Glovo.

You will be aligning stakeholders, building plans, and working with multiple teams to execute cross-functional projects, from the Glovo leadership team to ML Platform to Data. You will be a key player in our journey to democratise Data Science at Glovo.

Be a part of a team where you will:

  • Coordinate the creation of a multi-Q roadmap to democratise Data Science.
  • Drive projects that unlock the potential of Data Scientists.
  • Prioritize, define, measure and communicate a backlog that maintains a relentless pursuit for helping Data Scientists.
  • Communicate the status of your initiatives to stakeholders from around the business as well as the Glovo leadership team.
  • Understand and communicate complex technical issues or concerns, and ensure they are on a path for resolution.
  • Coordinate your plans with all relevant data and/or tech teams.
  • Coordinate initiative reviews, planning sessions, and other ceremonies, as necessary.
  • Help define & track critical metrics to monitor the health of the initiative and the business
  • Enable continuous improvement during the project, ensuring insights are captured, shared, and integrated.
  • Innovate, experiment, iterate and learn.

You have:

  • 3+ years of experience leading data projects, managing stakeholders and writing specifications.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking large, complex technical projects and delivering them on-time.
  • Practical experience with Agile methodologies and ceremonies using project management softwares such as Jira, Asana or similar. PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with different types of ML problems (i.e. regression or classification, un/supervised) and the lifecycle of a ML project. 
  • Understanding of current trends in Data Science, Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence and a general thirst for new developments in the domain.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English, and enjoy talking to highly technical users. 
  • Ability to make complex ideas understandable and craft specs that are easy for multiple audiences to consume.

Good to have:

  • Understanding of cloud services and technologies such as Redshift / BigQuery, Airflow / Luigi, Spark / Hadoop, Data Warehouse / Data Lake.
  • Familiarity with advanced techniques,  such as Hierarchical probabilistic models, Generative Models, Large Language Models, Differentially private methods, Outlier robust methods, Causal Inference methods, Online Learning, Multi Armed Bandits, Reinforcement Learning, and others.
