We are a product-centered company, and data is at the core of product development. In this role, you'll work with key business and product leads, analysts and data scientists to understand the business domain and how data can empower them. Your day-to-day will involve engaging with fellow engineers to develop a robust and scalable platform, to make the process of producing data and deriving insights efficient. You are passionate about the quality of the data you produce and take pride in having your data drive our business.

Be a part of a team where you will:

  • Design, implement and maintain Data Products that produce business-critical data reliably and efficiently using cloud technologies and engines for large-scale data analytics. This is our tech stack: SQL, Python, Spark, Airflow, Luigi, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, Datadog…
  • Think big and contribute to our Data Mesh strategy  within Glovo
  • Collaborate with many Product, Engineering and Business teams to produce relevant data products that can be used across multiple use cases
  • Raise the bar on best practices and technical quality standards for Glovo, contributing to the technical decisions across all teams and also making impactful contributions to our code base
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and training for junior Data Engineers
  • Plan new projects and delegate work to other Data Engineers

You have:

  • +3 years of experience working in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role
  • Experience designing and building scalable and robust data pipelines to enable data-driven business decisions
  • Experience in collecting requirements and creating data modeling designs
  • Strong proficiency and experience with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala)
  • Experience with Data Pipeline Orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi)
  • Knowledge of cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and/or distributed data processing engines (Spark)
  • Good understanding of software development best practices and agile methodologies
  • Passion for analyzing large complex datasets and converting them into information which drives business decisions
  • Excellent spoken and written English

BONUS POINTS:

  • Knowledge on Streaming and Data Lake cloud architectures
  • Experience with containerization tools (Docker)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions)
  • Experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, MWAA
  • Experience with the Data Mesh approach
