The 3PL & Innovation team in our Courier Cluster builds a platform for our third-party logistic users (3PL) that empowers them to manage their own fleet. This platform already supports 30% of all couriers globally (15K approx) and aims to reach more than 60% by 2022.
Our team's mission is being the partner of choice for fleet providers, while fostering competition among them to achieve operational excellence. We solve exciting product and technical challenges that are unique to the scale we operate at.
We work in a small, focused and autonomous product team, make data driven decisions, and ship the code to production instantly through our continuous delivery pipeline. As a team we have full ownership over our systems - including infrastructure decisions, operability, ensuring quality through automated tests and running A/B tests.

What You’ll Do:
- Building a strong microservice in Python
- Make changes in our Monolith application coded in Java to be able to correctly connect our microservice
- Listen from our microservice to main events generated in Glovo Infrastructure
- Mentor the team composed by less experienced Software Engineers
- Define architecture & design of the next features development for the 3PL platform
- Build scalable feature
- Develop observability of our system
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Strong Python programming skills with preferably 5+ years of professional experience in building complex data-intensive applications
- Java programming skills with preferably 2+ years of professional experience in building complex data-intensive applications
- Familiarity with or interest in learning any of the following: Kotlin, Kafka, Redis, MySQL, AWS, Terraform
- Commitment to deliver high quality well-tested software employing modern engineering approaches and architectural styles, including microservices, stream processing and event-driven architecture
- Proven ability to build backend systems with a solid foundation in fault-tolerant and resilient distributed systems
- A strong sense of ownership and deep care about the quality of the engineering done on the team
- Great communication skills (English)
