Glovo is a global player in the on demand delivery space operating in over 300 cities and growing. Last year, we launched in a new city every 4 days on average. Alongside our business growth, we are also growing our engineering team significantly and have recently launched our second engineering office in Poland, Warsaw. To help us make this engineering hub successful, we are seeking an experienced engineering leader to lead that office. 
 
The Director of Engineering and Site Lead for our Warsaw office will report to the VP of Engineering and will help define and execute our strategy. As we aim to create a large team within 12 months and have our Warsaw office be a key piece of our engineering strategy, you will play a key role in this high impact position as part of the engineering leadership team.

Be a part of a team where you will:

  • Grow, coach and mentor the engineers and teams in our Warsaw office and ensure people are motivated, highly productive and impactful
  • As part of the engineering leadership team, define and execute on the vision, key strategic efforts and projects 
  • Align on processes and cultivate an engineering culture that is open, inclusive and produces high quality output as a distributed office
  • Collaborate with product and design teams and ensure harmony during execution 
  • Get involved in technical discussions to help guide teams towards the right implementation
  • Be the leader and representative of our engineering efforts in Poland, Warsaw helping build an engineering brand that attracts key talent

You have: 

  • A degree in computer science or similar discipline
  • Substantial experience in a hands on software engineering role as well as management experience leading multiple teams
  • A good understanding of building mobile or web products at scale including cloud based technologies
  • Strong communication, collaboration and execution skills
  • Experience in growing engineering organisations in a hyper growth environment
  • Ability to inspire and lead

Nice-to-haves:

  • Previous experience leading a distributed office in a similar role would be a big plus
  • Experience in implementing agile practices in large scale organisations would be a plus
